In Community We Trust!
Founded in 2015, Indihood is on a mission to create an epochal shift in platform development changing the way we conceive, build and consume digital platforms that work for all 7.5 Billion of us. Indihood is building a hyperlocal, no-code, declarative crowdsourcing platform which will allow organizations/individuals to build complex business solutions rapidly with ease. The platform aims to remove all technology barriers and empower users, experts and makers with no coding skills to build powerful applications. At Indihood, we go way beyond coding. We are software engineers who are responsible for ideas that will impact society at scale. The engineers building this platform are pioneers from Google who invented, built and launched systems that touched a billion lives – including Google’s Map Maker, Google Finance, Google Transliteration, YouTube community translation, Crowdsourced machine translation training. You will be working shoulder to shoulder with these engineers. Indihood has seen enormous success with its first solution - Avanti - a platform envisioned by Nandan Nilekani and Ratan Tata. Our tribe is growing. We are looking for the best and brightest engineering minds to join us. You will be working with people who are committed to transforming our planet by changing the way we think of digital solutions.
Indihood is reimagining computer science for all 7.8 Billion. Many of us dreamed of building stuff that actuates those who are left behind in society. Indihood has been building such a transformative platform and has already started to see results. This is what makes our mission extremely challenging and interesting : We are targeting the platform to be usable for a wide-range of applications. This requires us to build a composable system that is designed for population scale, relies on crowdsourced data and is plugged into the India stack. Some of our engineers have had experience solving data quality issues at scale, as part of their prior experience in crowdsourcing map data for the world while at Google. The challenges in Indihood are much bigger. Assuming we achieve our scale targets and the wide breadth of use cases that we hope to go after, the challenges of building and maintaining maps for the world will pale in comparison. Building for ease of use. Given that our solutions will be used by individuals who have not been trained in writing software, it requires us to put ourselves in the position of our application authors and build simple and easy to use solutions. Further, the solution platform needs to be extremely affordable. This requires us to build our own systems from the scratch and avoid relying on ready made expensive solutions. It takes some of the brightest computer scientists to crack this, we are only looking for a few. To paraphrase an ancient quote, computing and societal revolutions always begin with a handful of people who think they can. It is the only way it has ever happened
Indihood’s mission is to transform lives and livelihoods at population scale. We are building a technology platform that aims to empower a wide range of users - millions of citizen programmers who have little or no computer science skills, with tools to create cloud backed mobile applications for use cases at the bottom of the pyramid. Our solutions need to be so affordable and so simple to use that even farmers can have their own platforms! To succeed in our mission, we need engineers who can solve complex technological challenges that can scale for millions. If Indihood’s mission and solving some of the hardest computer science problems, while working along with the brightest minds in the industry excites you - You should be eager to work with us.
